Auditions, Auditions, and MORE Audtions.

So yesterday I auditioned for the spring musical "Wizard of Oz", boy was I NOT prepared! I learned my song but I guess I didn't do it well enough. So I go and I don't have a resume or a headshot and I can't do anything technical, geez if I get cast it'll be a miracle!! I went and he said "So your Alisha Fabbi. Well I've heard great things about you." Totally freaked me out! Well I go in to sing my song and the piano is playing so loud that in the beginning you couldn't here me but I sounded pretty awesome at the end if I do say so myself! Of course I tried to avoid the deer in the headlights stare while singing while I was practicing and what did I do, I looked like a deer in the headlights. Then he asked if I could dance, I should have lied but I told the truth and said no. I should have said that I can move well or something like that but no, I didn't. So then as I was walking out I said "An Ozzian (or ensemble)role is perfectly fine with me!", BIG MISTAKE! Like I said if I get cast it'll be a miracle. So Today I'm auditioning for The Seagull and hopefully that will go much better. Wish me luck!!!

Sorry I haven't Blogged.

So it's been awhile since I wrote last and lots of exciting things have happened. Last Saturday we had the first read through, and it was AMAZING! The show is going to be so great! I wish everyone whom I love could come and see it. It's going to be very..um.. New in the way it goes along with things. I hope we get nominated to go to ACTF, that would be such an amazing experience.
Also on Saturday, Morgan, her roommate Laura, and her friend Tony and I went on a cave adventure! I've never really been outdoorsy but this was really an adventure! We crawled around on our hands and knees and hunched over all through the caverns. I've never had to squeeze my body into tighter corners so much in my entire life! I am very sore and covered in bruises but for some reason I feel very accomplished!!
One of the great pleasures of living in Utah is all the wonderful bugs that go along with it! Sunday night I found a BLACK WIDOW in my room. In my dirty laundry to be more specific! It was so scary! At first I didn't know it was a black widow, it wasn't until after I killed it and turned it over and saw the bright red spot that I knew it was a deadly nasty bug! The thing is I don't know how it got into my room and that freaks me out more than anything!
Dawn-Marie has been letting me come over and we played rayman (the most wonderful game in the world!) and watch Clarissa Explains it all. I LOVE THAT SHOW! It reminds me of growing up and being so excited to watch Nickelodeon and Disney, and all the sows I used to watch. Clarissa was a pretty good role model, she was an individual and wasn't afraid to be herself. She wore the CRAZIEST clothes in the world!
I need a job, I'm looking but so many things have already been taken. They are having ANOTHER career fair in October, but I hope to have a job by then even if it's working at...gag me McDonalds!

I DID IT!!!!!!

I did it! I did it! I got a part!!! My name was on that list!!!
Ok so, I had been nervous all weekend, just thinking about it just me all nervous again, anyway I had to suffer through all three of my classes PLUS institute without knowing if I made it. So Morgan and I drove over by South Hall and parked and ran across the street to check. And I was so nervous and I had to pee SO BAD but I was just more nervous my name wasn't going to be on there so we walk over and this guy is just standing there like he's shocked and I go to check for my name and it is #2 on the list in alphabetical order! I screamed and I jumped up and down! The guy asked if I got a part, (ha ha right?) and I said YES! and he did too, he was Merrick the main character(no wonder he looked shocked)! We high fived and then I had to run up stairs to grab my script and Shelly the secretary asked if that was me screaming and I said yes, I was just so excited and she laughed like I was a freshman and this was my first part and technically it was, for SUU anyway. So I am....drum roll please.. A pinhead, The Duchess, and Miss Sandwich!!!! YES YES YES YES and YES!!!! OMIGOSH! This was only my second audition! I think SUU agrees with me totally! Anyway me and Morgan celebrated by eating Chinese food. She's so amazing and supportive! I can't wait to celebrate her first part in a play. everyone COME SEE THE PLAY! We're going to be showing it on Halloween so come see me be a sideshow freak, a duchess, and a mean lady! Much, much, much, much love and kisses!

The Audition was so AMAZING! I love the direction the the play is going in. I want to be a part of this play so bad I'll wear a monkey costume if I have too! I took a shower today before class and I smell good if I do say so myself! I couldn't sleep at all last night, I think I fell asleep around 1 or 2. Geez I'm so EXCITED!!! I want a part! I did the best I could so I'm not disapointed at all.
That and the BFA people I was so scared of? Ya.....I'm just as good not need to feel scared of them. They are at the same level as me, and THAT is a huge relief..Well Gots to go I'll let you know when I find out the cast list!

Elephant Man Auditions

So Yesterday I auditioned for Elephant man, and today I got CALLED BACK!!!!!! This is my second Call Back within a week! I can't believe I did it! The audition was so much fun, and I just am AMAZED that he picked me. Anyway that's the News of the moment, much love!!!!

Labor Day Weekend

So to ease everybody's tension, I didn't get the part, but don't feel too bad the girl who got it did an AMAZING job! I knew after auditions one of them was going to get it, Latoya or Lisa but I wasn't sure and Lisa got it! She's a BFA musical Theatre major and has been in other shows so seriously don't feel bad! Anyway I went to Vegas and worked my last shift at old navy, it was so weird and yet not really, I loved working there but it was time to go. Everyone looked at me like they would never see me again, which there's a good chance they wont! I will miss the discount......
I spent the night at Jess' house Saturday and Sunday and it was SO much fun! Saturday night me and Jess went shopping at Walmart to get me a skirt for church on Sunday and it is so cute! it's pink and high waisted and flairs out like a 50's party dress! I wore it with a black shirt tucked in, and what I didn't know was the shirt is kinda see through and my undershirt was a little low cut and ya pretty much everyone though I was a nonmember! Jessica's mom did a really good job on her talk, and the choir sang a really pretty song, it was a really good Sunday! We did the craziest things with her family, (who are officially my second family). If you ever hear RING and frog-like impressions of Carlotta in the same night, you KNOW it's going to be a good time!
Monday I found the most fantastic store, It's called Steve and Barry's and it is....I can't even tell you how much I love this store!! I got a WHOLE winter wardrobe for nothing, everything was on sale for 8.98, including cable knit sweaters and regular cute sweaters! I bought this really cute yellow sweatshirt from 'Dear' Amanda Bynes line. I got a ton of stuff from Bitten, Sarah Jessica Parker's line, how I love her! She has THE best fashion sense and knows what looks good! After that I headed to Logandale to spend the rest of the day with my family, which was so much fun! I love them so much! we played blink and qwitch which I am masters of! Like I said to them I am the Michael Phleps of those games and they were going to have to fight for second! Then my signature move the "retardfly" a dance consisting of movements closely like those of the butterfly, was invented. It's almost as good as me being a mermaid on vacation!
I have a few things I have to do in Cedar, including finding ANOTHER job! Geez! Well I think I'm going to apply to the call center place ten bucks an hour sounds really good to me. I'll be making almost as much as I did at Old Navy and THAT sounds REALLY good to me! So Ya pretty much this is how my life is going so far! Wish me luck at auditions on Thursday for Elephant Man!!

Call Backs today!!

So yesterday off a whim I decided to try out for a musical and got a call back!! It was so much fun! The two girls I was going up against were SO Fantastic! I'm sure one of them is going to get the part. I wish I could because the music is just so amazing but both of them have been in the Theatre program way longer and they know what's going on!! So callbacks started at 9am, and I woke up about 7:30 and got ready and then headed over to the Audition Place when I got there I forgot to bring Character shoes! So I practically ran home to get my jazz shoes and better pants, I had walked to school smart me right? I got there about 8:56 which was good I had a little time to calm dawn and breathe and then we introduced ourselves and got to singin'! Then after we did a group sing audition, they made us move to a dance studio in the Multipurpose room, and we "Abby's" had our singing audition and I think I did a decent job but I hit this amazingly high note! It was awesome! The we had a, dance rehearsal yay...not really, it was ok I skipped a few steps but I tried to stay into character, and that's all I can do! Then we had a read and again it was ok, at least I'm consistent right? And then it was over, just like that! Anyway we find out at 1:00 if we made it and I'm more sad then nervous, atleast I GOT a callback! I strutted my stuff and if they didn't like it well that's too bad! I just hope that maybe they give me a chorus part THAT would be really fun! Anyway That's what happed today! That and I'm heading into vegas to work for the last time at Old Navy...geez it feels weird saying that, so I'll you soon Jenny and Jess!!

1st Blog

I never really though about writing a blog but now that I'm away from all of my friends and family, I thought you guys would like to to know what's going on in my life. Well after a whirlwind experience getting admitted to SUU and starting classes so soon, life is going ok. I'm still a little lonely, but I met this really awesome girl named Morgan. She's a Freshman and a Musical Theatre Major, and it's nice to have someone to hang out with who has the same interests. My roommate Liz is really nice and funny but she's really busy with a life, I would like to get one of those soon! I went to my majors meeting today and it just was overwhelming how many actual people are in the College of Visual and Preforming Arts, I'm going to make sure that I work my hardest to get into the BFA program, if I can. Peter Sham, one of the people in charge said that we might be able to work something out if I'm willing to go into school another year, and for a BFA I would. I got a job in the costume shop today!!! If I have to sew I'm going to do the best job I can! Dawn-Marie said I could use her sewing machine and I think I'm going use it to practice making different things. I might not be fast, but if I'm patient the I know I'll be able to make amazing things! My boss seems really nice, I can't wait to get my schedule, to start working! My last day at Old Navy is Saturday, it feels really good and bad at the same time. I'm going to miss making what I make. RIP my current salary.....ANYWAY I think Mom you would be proud of me, today I went for a walk, just to walk! The Gym at school is 60 dollars for a semester or 120 for a year, I'll weigh my options and then decide which I want to get but I know for sure I want to go. Eating more Veggies has seriously improved my outlook on life, today they were serving free cake and ice cream in the quad and I just wanted to eat my yogurt. I love walking to school, It's getting faster too! I haven't used my car in two days I feel very accomplished! I might get another job depending on how much I make during work study, which is not much! So I'm going to try out for Elephant Man, the play mainstage is doing if I don't get into that, which I have a feeling I wont, I'm going to be involved in 24 hour theatre it sounds like so much fun even being a stagehand would be awesome! Lets see what else happened today.....I fit into my American Eagle pants!!! I'm so excited! As Much as I loved living with Grandma and Grandpa I just couldn't eat healthy, now I'm controlling what I eat and how much I eat and it feels so good! I can have treats but I choose not to overindulge. It's all about controlling your self, I just wasn't able to do that before. Enough for one day, I can't wait to write again!
